Redefine the meaning of “Public” to include local distinctions including Christian Faith.
85% of Michiganders identify with some form of the Christian faith. Prayers at graduation, ball games, etc. should be allowed. General Bible surveys would familiarize students with the number one best seller and the philosophy of 1/3 of the earth’s population.
Problems . . .
a. Education without moral values or wise philosophy is a poison that creates a selfish and prideful generation. Schools are not the extension of the churches, but are not to work against them either.
b. School is not the place to promote sex, sexual identity confusion, aberrant sexual behavior or any related content. Modern sex ed. includes instruction and distribution of manifold birth control options and rarely emphasizes moral value or abstinence.
c. Purposed ignorance of the Bible, Jesus Christ, and the Christian faith is the opposite of education. Parents that want their children excused from these topics may do so.
And Solutions . . .
* “Secular” is a form of religion. It is not producing a better product in our school systems. It should not have sole access to classrooms and budgets without at least equal representation of the Christian worldview.
*Rules that enforce sexual purity ought to be applied to schools. Dress codes, physical contact policies, and parental information access are a good start.
*Evolution is a theory. It is a highly questionable theory with spurious scientific data backing it. Alternative theories including creationism, along with its scientific data should be taught or be present in Michigan public schools.
